Senior FP&A Analyst

Reporting to the CFO, the Senior FP&A Analyst will be responsible for budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, Capital Request variance reporting and contract analysis, as well as assisting in the month-end close, and other financial analysis and reporting as needed. In this position, you will partner with Production, Publishing, Development and IT to help drive a bottom line performance across all major business units. This role will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to GAAP as well as organizational accounting principles, procedures, practices, reporting and compliance requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepared and distributed monthly financial reports that summarize business activity, income, expenses and budget/forecast versus performance

  • Analyze financial reports for variances from forecasted, budgeted, and benchmarked performance and provide explanations and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Review operating expenses and provide recommendations to leadership on ideas for cost savings 

  • Collaborate to establish and implement consistent processes and financially related Best Practices across the organization

  • Review and report cost accruals for committed cost

  • Ensure proper revenue recognition

  • Develop new reports to support the business as needed

  • Review, monitor and evaluate contracts to prepare trend analysis and report on contract performance

  • Participate in Information Technology systems interface and act as the Functional Lead for key project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 7+ yrs experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting or Data Science role

  • Advanced degree and certifications plus

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Solid knowledge of financial systems and business reporting tools like Essbase, Domo and Zoho Analytics
